An Evening with Martin Clunes
Fri 1 May 2026 | 7:00pm - 8:00pm
Best known for his roles in the hit sitcom Men Behaving Badly, the hugely popular drama Doc Martin and recently a starring role in the new film of Wuthering Heights, Martin Clunes has been a familiar face on the big and small screen since the 1990s. Alongside his acting career, he has presented a range of acclaimed documentaries, from travel series such as Islands of the Atlantic to programmes celebrating extraordinary animals and the people who care for them. He was awarded an OBE in 2015 for his contribution to drama, charity and the community in Dorset, where he lives with his family.
In this special event Clunes, in conversation with Gaby Huddart, will reflect on his remarkable career and share stories from a lifetime spent in the company of animals. A lifelong animal lover, he has surrounded himself with them both on screen and at home—but none have caused quite as much chaos as John and Murray, two mischievous Jack Russell puppies who bounded into his life and quickly took over.
With warmth and humour, Clunes will talk about his new book which recounts the trials and triumphs of training these unruly companions, the unforgettable adventures that followed and the life lessons he has learned along the way including the unbreakable bond between a man and his dogs.
