Dame Harriet Walter and Dame Vikki Heywood
Fri 17 Apr 2026 | 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Two authors who have had stellar careers in the arts before publishing books, Dame Harriet Walter and Dame Vikki Heywood, come together for a wide-ranging conversation about lives spent on and around the stage. Reflecting on their remarkable theatrical careers, they will discuss their recently published books and the journeys that led them to write. Vikki Heywood has spent her career in the theatre with roles including Executive Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company and head of the Royal Court Theatre. Harriet Walter is an award-winning actress who won a BAFTA nomination for her role in the hit series Succession and has been seen regularly on our screens in Killing Eve, Ted Lasso, Silo and Brian and Maggie to name a few.
With writer Greg Mosse as facilitator, the heart of their discussion will be a shared fascination with women’s lost, overlooked and unheard voices — and a desire to bring those stories back into the light. From classical theatre to contemporary culture, this event offers insight, wit and reflection from two artists who have shaped British theatre and continue to question whose stories get told, and why.
